April 2013 Zimpeto Bible School Update

We are so very grateful for all that Iris Ministries Canada does to support the Zimpeto Bible School. To have an organization, a body of people who believe in, support and encourage the poorest of the poor out of the dirt, really does make a huge difference in the lives of those who are touched by these Christ like actions.

Despite very bad flooding in Xai Xai and the Gaza area, nothing stops God’s calling on a person’s life, and come term time the bible school was again full of hungry men and women running after God and all He has for their lives, their families, their community, their nation.

Transformed lives has been God’s theme this term as God has been touching our first year students with personal experiences of the Fathers heart, pouring out His love into their lives. Mozambique can be a tough place to grow up in. Many children are abused, abandoned, fatherless, orphaned, live in dire poverty and if they survive their childhood and reach adulthood, they reach it carrying many burdens from their past.

For our first year students, as we studied with them the Lord’s Prayer ‘Our Father…’ many of them shared their own experiences of either growing up fatherless, abandoned or rejected by their fathers. Healing took place in the hearts of these students as they received revelation of Father God’s love for each one of them.

During a lesson on forgiveness, one woman shared how her father was a witchdoctor and how he had dedicated her to the devil as a baby. As she shared, tears ran down her face as she confessed that she hated her father and could never forgive him for what he had done. But now she had learned that her un-forgiveness was keeping her trapped in her past and that forgiveness was a choice and not a feeling. She asked for prayer because she was making the choice that day to forgive her father. The woman received prayer and deliverance from alcoholism and ended the first term delivered and set free from her past. She successfully completed her first term exams and is moving forward in her future with her Father God.

Your faith in action makes a difference in these people’s lives. On behalf of everyone at the bible school from the past, present and those to come, thank you for investing in us, believing in us, and encouraging us to run our race and  fulfil our destinies in God here in Mozambique.
