April 2017 Northern Mozambique Orphan-Village Projects Update
We have over 80 resident children at the Mieze and Noviane Children’s Centres. The two centres operate under one government license and are known collectively as "The Village of Love." There is only one other children's centre in the entire province which has met the strict government requirements for licensing.
In general, Mieze accommodates younger children, although a few of the Mieze children have grown up there and are now attending secondary school. And in general, Noviane accommodates older children attending Iris' Christian secondary school or pursuing vocational training. But there are still a few younger children who have grown up in the Noviane Centre and are still in primary school.
Pictures we show of our resident children show the results of mission. The children in our care are well fed and clothed, enjoy secure and reasonably comfortable accommodation, and are all in school and know the love of their heavenly Father. Prior to coming to our centres, these same kids were typically hungry, dirty, slept on the ground, and in many cases had never been to school.
Thank you for your faithful prayers and support through Iris Ministries Canada. You are helping give these children "hope and a future" (Jer. 29:11).
