March 2012 Zimpeto Bible School Update

At the beginning of the bible school year when it was time for the pastors to go to the churches throughout southern Mozambique to bring in recruits for the Bible School, the next two provinces north of us were unreachable. The one and only highway which connects the most southerly province of Maputo to the rest of the country was washed away by flood waters from cyclones (hurricanes). We wondered how the school would manage to have sufficient students without our students from Gaza and Inhambane provinces being able to come. Fortunately there was a good turnout from Maputo, and all three levels started and are presently in process. Our hearts and prayers are with those who have been devastated by the flooding, who have lost what little they had, including crops from their small plots of land.

We did not make it back for the term as we've been delayed in Canada. Fortunately we've been able to keep in contact and assist with facilitating as many things as possible via email. Meanwhile we think of our students and miss our times with them, whether in the classroom, hanging out with them at our house, or visiting them in the bush.

We are so grateful to Iris Ministries Canada who provide financial assistance for the operational costs of the Zimpeto Bible School!
