October 2007 Southern Malawi Ministry Centre Update

"The Iris Malawi Base is growing and changing all the time. With four children's homes now occupied, and a total of 43 Iris children, there is never a slow moment! Our Malawian house parents, Hedson, Fanny, Rose, Lamek, Zione, and Dorothy are a tremendous answer to prayer. Your continued prayers are needed as they give all they have to this great task.

"Our Iris Primary School is underway, where we are teaching Kindergarten and Grades 1 to 4. Our first building is now in use, and the second is under construction. Our teachers are a huge gift to us. They are young, and keen to learn. Discipline is a challenge of course, as is finding the right curriculum.

"Meanwhile the Bible school goes on, handed into the capable hands of Timothy Makwalo. Fifty pastors, both men and women, are busy worshipping, studying, serving and growing. We have now seen almost all our Iris Pastors through the first level of our three year program, and we are currently running our fourth, third year class. It is exciting to see our pastors loving their wives and children more freely. The changes will begin in the homes, and spread through the villages, to the nation. We are excited to see God's plans for the men and women who come to learn.

"The feeding program continues to run on the 15th of every month. We continue to provide support for 8,000 people, including the handicapped and many grandmothers who care for their orphaned grandchildren."
