Carrying His Glory

"God is not looking for extraordinary, exceptionally gifted people, just laid down lovers of Jesus who will carry His glory with transparency and not take it for themselves.”
– Heidi Baker
Dear friends,
May we take a moment to give glory to God for all that is happening around the world through Iris Ministries Canada. We have so much to be thankful for.
In a restricted country in Asia, a courageous servant of God travels tirelessly, encouraging churches and also gathering supplies for Iris bases in Malawi and Mozambique. She is small in stature but so strong in spirit. Cover her with your prayers for safety and provision.
Phnom Penh Ministry Centre
Many students recently gathered in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, for their first Harvest School. They received training in evangelism, worship, and prayer ministry. Canadian missionary, Jen, also gives thanks for her foster child who is thriving.

Zimpeto Ministry Centre
Steve & Roz Lazar, who have served at the Zimpeto base in Mozambique for 24 years, share the story of Augusto. Augusto came to the base 23 years ago as a young boy in need of a family. Now, he and his wife, Clara, serve as the Directors of Operations. Steve is grateful for this relationship, which has evolved over the years—from a child in need, to a friend and colleague, and now to a trusted partner in ministry.

Future leaders are still coming home to Iris bases all over the world. The Zimpeto base has just welcomed five new babies, most of whom require extra medical care. How exciting for these children to now have three meals a day, clean clothes, and their own beds! When the time comes, they will attend school on the base with hundreds of other children.

Iris Malawi Ministry Centre
In the same week, Iris Malawi welcomed two new children. They had been part of the Children of Hope program, receiving support while living with their grandmother. After their grandmother's recent passing, they came to live at the Iris base. What joy it is to bring a child home! We give thanks to God who leads us in triumphal procession. He is doing his work. Let us join with Jesus as his hands and feet!

Tokyo, Japan
Iris Ministries Canada in Japan looks very different. Missionaries focus on building friendships and learning the language. Jenn shares about a young Japanese woman who is hungry for God and the ultimate freedom and healing He brings! She is seeking opportunities to heal from past wounds and is eager to be filled with truth and love. God has provided Jenn with a wonderful Japanese language tutor! Although she does not know Jesus yet, she translates Bible verses into Japanese, and they get to go over them together. God is very intentional and creative in how He reaches people’s hearts!
We also give thanks for you!
Though most of you have not been to these nations, you have given so that others can go. You have provided for the purchase of food and school uniforms. You have given sacrificially to build the Kingdom of God and we are so grateful for you.
As we feast abundantly, we pray especially for those who do not have enough to eat due to the weather events of the last few years.
As we head back to Malawi for a visit, we anticipate all that God will do to meet their needs. May God richly bless you today and every day!
Thank you for praying and for giving.
With gratitude,
Joanna & David Morrison
