IMC Project Updates

October 2013 Zimpeto Bible School Update

In this update we want to share with you a little bit of the great impact in the lives of the men and women who are able to come to the Zimpeto Bible School. Your financial support has both impacted and truly transformed the lives of many over the years.

This testimony is about the most recent term and the student’s active participation in daily activities at college and how it created an impact in their own lives and in the life of the people around them.

October 2013 Zimpeto Sewing and Carpentry Program Update

Having arrived back in June, we are just over half-way through our time here for this year. The boys and I have been extremely busy building cupboards and making beds in the shop. We also made a TV stand and 5 benches, and spent 4 weeks putting drop ceilings in the offices of the school.

Betty is teaching 21 girls to sew this time, and is also teaching 6 ladies from the community. Betty is grateful to have two assistants now, one part-time and one that is going to hopefully be able to take over for Betty when we leave in December.

April 2013 Southern Malawi Ministry Centre Update

Our youngest child is 6 months and our oldest 18. In between we hit every age and every stage. We have temper tantrums and we have changing hormones. We have those who are learning to walk, and those who are learning to fly. Our newest girls are settling in so well with their house mother, Ruth. A few weeks ago all 72 kids were out in the field harvesting beans. It was wonderful to watch them working together, laughing and chatting as they worked.

November 2012 Zimpeto Sewing and Carpentry Program Update

Our time here has passed so very quickly. It is hard to believe that we are returning home to Canada next week. We are hoping/planning on returning for a longer period of time later in 2013.

It has been wonderful being with the boys and girls and our missionary friends again these past three months.

It has been a busy time in the workshop. Bob has 3 Mozambicans working alongside and together they have been able to accomplish quite a bit for the centre. Here’s a list of what’s been built:

November 2012 Zimpeto Widows' Home Project Update

One of our pastors reported to us that there was a young mother of twins, abandoned by her husband, that been thrown out of her family home. One of the twins had just died. While she is not an elderly widow, she is a mother and woman desperately in need.

We brought her and her baby into the widows' house for 3 months. She has been wonderful company for the elderly widow living in the house and has had time to rest, receive ministry and get stronger by having good nutrition available to her and her child.
