October 2006 David & Joanna Morrison Update

"Bangula, located on the very southern tip of Malawi, has been very hard hit by famine for many years in a row, and so it is a good place to be, to love the poor. It has been three years since we moved here. Our centre is now home to two dormitories which can house up to 50 pastors, two classrooms where the pastors train, two (soon to be four) children’s homes which each house 12 children plus house parents, and two missionary homes. We are amazed at what the Lord has provided these past three years. He is so faithful.

"With 22 children living ‘next door’, and three children at home, you can imagine that life is never quiet. Educational games are constantly on the go, crafts are always being dreamed up, wounds are always needing band-aids, and there is always ringworm to treat (don’t worry, it is not really a worm at all…just like athletes foot, only on the head). Homeschooling fills the mornings, and the afternoons are left for teaching at the Bible school, women's groups, boys’ and girls’ clubs, and just hanging out at home. The Morrison children are enjoying their Malawian brothers and sisters, and are beginning to speak a lot of Chichewa!

"The call and challenge to our family is to 'abide in Christ’ in the midst of the activity. And the reality is that none of this will happen without such abiding.

[The growing Morrison family]

The Morrisons would all appreciate prayer for language learning, and growing friendships.
