May 2008 Zimpeto Bible School Update

"Now that all of the construction has been completed in the Bible school, we have turned our attention to some much needed maintenance/renovation issues in the student dorm. Since this dorm was the first to be built here at the Zimpeto Centre, we have wanted to paint the white walls! We hired some of our former students who have experience in this area to come and paint between terms.

"Material to make curtains has also been purchased so that the windows can be properly covered. Up till now we have made due with torn pieces of old sheets. New toilets have been purchased to replace the non-functioning ones, and several mattresses have been purchased to replace some of the very old and worn ones. This delights the pastors and honors them when they are here for their 3 month terms.

"One of the highlights of the last term was a baptism for those students wanting to make this declaration of faith. We went to a nearby wading pool and had a wonderful and joyous time with our students. Many followed Jesus' command to be baptized. John was very blessed to participate in the ceremony, along with our Mozambican leadership.

"We anticipate the start a new term this month and as this is being written, the new students are arriving daily."
